Places in Ghana: Sisimbo Beach Resort

Our weekend getaway over the Independence long weekend was to Sisimbo Beach Resort in Kuntu village. A 3km drive from the Mankessim Roundabout on the Cape Coast road leads to the turn off, and a further 3 km on the dirt dirt takes you to the resort.
Sisimbo officially opened in December 2010.
Spacious rooms, with charming little details such as the embroidered towels, en-suite shower, bar fridge and flat screen TV. The restaurant serves a diverse menu from grills, pasta, sandwiches to fish. It has a view to the ocean and you can walk from the rooms to the beach in minutes. The Luxury/Family Rooms and smaller 'round' rooms are all air-conditioned, surrounded by towering palm trees.

Last night as we celebrated Ghana's 54th Independence Anniversary there was a Ghanaian buffet with musicians and dancers providing the entertainment.
Two days of lazing on the beach, the kids making the most of their sun and sand getaway - even helping the fishermen haul in the fishing nets which were cast the night before - was just the mini-break we all needed.
Sisimbo - the name is  inspired by a fisherman song with the refrain..."Sisimbom Ntabonbom..." - bills itself as a resort 'with families in mind' and it is indeed a family-friendly establishment.

  1. My fiancee and I visited Sisimbo Beach Resort for my birthday 07/20/2011 and I must say that this is a WONDERFUL place. The road to the resort is horrible. But PLEASE just take the ride. It is very bumpy and at times you may even want to turn around and go back. Had it not been for my fiancee I would have done just that. But I thank God that I took that 15 minute bumpy ride. Because this was an experience of a lifetime. And the staff is AWESOME! The rooms are EXCELLENT! And the price is very affordable. They even lined up a taxi for us to take a trip to Cape Coast which is about 1 1/2 hours away. The taxi even waited on us while we enjoyed the Castle and had dinner. We even added the staff to my fb friends list. When we left ir felt as if we were leaving longtime friends. But I know that we will see each other again. The pictures that are posted are exactly what you will seee when you visit this beach. My fiancee helped pull in the net just for the fun of it(he worked a whole 5 minutes) lol! And the natives gave us fish because it is a tradition to do so if a person helps. We didn't know that. Which made it even better. I am sure that you will enjoy this resort. It is a very Loving place. God Bless!!!
