Gastronomy in Ghana: Red Chilli Restaurant

Eating out in Accra is never a rushed affair for a number of reasons...perhaps one's desire to linger over a meal or sometimes service that is too slow. Red Chilli offers the best of both worlds, honestly good traditional cuisine and a buffet service that ensures you can indeed have a quick but fantastic meal in less that one hour. I met friends for lunch and an hour later, we'd eaten, caught up and left fully satisfied.

Great Traditional food with all my favourites and more...kelewele, jollof rice, red red, grilled tilapia, goat stew and garden egg abom which was by far my choice of the day. Clean colourful decor, walls painted in warm tones and the charming owner, Femi Adetola has made Red Chilli a definite place to add onto one's list of great places to eat. The walls have black and white family photos, which Femi says are in keeping with her wanting patrons to feel like they are having lunch at their Grandmother's house. They lend a quiet comfort to the decor while one tucks into the wonderful traditional food. Red Chilli opened its doors on Tuesday and currently offers a lunch-time buffet. A delivery service in available, together with a takeout menu.
