Gastronomy in Ghana: Abusua Restaurant, Kumasi

The service was quick, efficient and friendly. The menu offers everything from continental breakfasts of croissants and coffees, croque monsieurs, to banku with tilapia, fufu and kontomire.

A no-frills place that has outdoor eating areas under marquee-like structures. There were ceiling fans, but they did not help with the heat. All that aside - the food was really good. Surprisingly so, given the outward appearance of the restaurant; plastic chairs and tables, plastic tablecloths and really simple structures. The car park was full though, always a good indicator and for a local restaurant, there were a lot of locals, an even better indication.
Grilled chicken and rice, banku and tilapia, lots of water and we left with smiles and sated appetites. A real surprise for a Saturday afternoon.
