Gastronomy in Ghana: Melting Moments

It was one of the first places in Accra I went to that promised good coffee with ambiance. Melting Moments is a coffee shop cum cafe in Labone.
The coffee is not all that great - I have been at pains to find a place that serves really good coffee in Accra. That aside, it really does have a cosy atmosphere about it; there's the air-conditioned interior which boasts a few tables and a corner with comfortable seating and a coffee table laden with magazines and newspapers. It has a fairly sizeable exterior, which can be ideal on cooler days. It is a comfortable, relaxed coffee shop - a meeting place for locals and expats alike. Always busy but the service is agonisingly slow, irrespective of how busy they are. So go prepared for the slow service- sit back, watch the people coming and going and order from their extensive drinks and smoothies menu while you wait for your food. They serve a variety of sandwiches, wraps and Ghanaian dishes. You will find a varied choice of freshly baked cakes, muffins and savoury snacks for sit down or take-way. Their smoothies are definitely their selling point; thick and fruity and served quickly!
