I am finding that school Holidays in France require a full itinerary. The luxury of just being outside in the garden playing is just that, a luxury. Even if the itinerary entails trips to the park, there still has to be thought put to the trip. Decided to fill my childrens' days full of museum trips during the last school holidays - the weather was unfortunately not as cooperative, but we did manage a few tips out.
They loved the Jardin des Plantes, and this is truly one of the best places to visit for children in Paris. There was a little bit of everything for everyone.
The jardin itself houses everything: from the paleonthology section, which was where we started, to the Muséum of Natural History - another section worth its own visit entirely. We even took in the current Au fil des araignées exhibit - all about spiders, at the Grand Galérie de l'Evolution. Five hours later, I kid you not, we made out way home. At the end of the day son got to see his dinosaurs, and my daughter tried to overcome her fear of spiders by getting up close and personal with them. Jardin des Plantes comes highly recommended if you're looking to entertain the little people.
