The
Letters from Africa exhibition which has been on at the Brazil House in Jamestown (Old Accra) comes to a close today. I missed it - not from a lack of effort - I went in the morning with a friend and found that it was only open in the afternoons...it was not an entirely wasted trip, the permanent exhibition is interesting also. The images recount the history of the
Tabon people in Ghana. Returning slaves from Brazil. It is all explained; from the Portuguese names to the cuisine.
This Friday 17 June at 6pm is an upcoming "Art Talk"forum hosted by the
Nubuke Foundation with Larry Otoo; renowned Ghanaian artist.
And for contemporary sculpture,
Constance Swaniker is having her very first solo exhibition at the Artists Alliance Gallery next Wednesday 22nd June from 6pm. The exhibition is entitled "Passage of Discovery".
